Native American history and culture play a large and important role in the creation and success of the City of Temecula as a whole and every year the city celebrates Pechanga Pu’eska Mountain Day; a holiday commemorating the contributions of the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians on the community.

The City of Temecula Community Services Department and the Inland Valley Symphony are showing their gratitude to the men and women of the armed forces with a Patriotic Salute to Veterans, this Tuesday, November 11th at 5:30 pm in the quad in front of City Hall.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and, at the Promenade Mall in Temecula, you can enjoy the beauty of holiday decorations while also donating to a good cause, when local holiday shopper’s favorite, Christmas Tree Lane, officially opens on Saturday, November 8th. A fundraiser now in its eighth year, the non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley has been asking volunteers, designers and businesses to donate their time and funds to decorate unique Christmas trees, all with different themes and styles, to be raffled off to support their charitable efforts.

Gabriele Bitter knows firsthand the emotional power of art. Though mainly a contemporary abstract artist, Bitter also finds herself pursuing the medium of traditional printmaking, depending on her mood. Temecula residents have a chance to view and even purchase selections of both mediums at an exhibition all this month at the Gallery at the Merc in Old Town.

This Veteran’s Day weekend, there is an exciting opportunity to not only honor our nation’s heroes, but be entertained in the process, when the contemporary rock musical Skytrooper comes to the Rancho California RV Resort in Aguanga. The songs for Skytrooper were written by Producer and Lead Vocalist, Bill Ellis; some written while he was serving in Vietnam as an infantryman with the 1st Air Cavalry Division during 1968-69.

It’s been 25 years since Temecula became an incorporated city and the Community Services Department is pulling out all the stops, with 25 Days of Fun. Beginning November 11th, activities will be held all over town highlighting the people and organizations that make Temecula such a unique and beloved community.

Go Greek this weekend as the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church presents their annual Greek Festival in Old Town. Entertainment includes live Greek music from the bands 4 Greeks LA and Tatoolis and traditional folk dancers, including children, will be on hand to demonstrate their authentic and lively Greek choreography.

I know that a lot of you are probably looking for something to do after the kids have finished trick or treating, carving pumpkins and bobbing for apples, so I have compiled a list of some of the adult-centric Halloween activities being scared up around the valley.
