How to Stop Hating Valentine’s Day (and Maybe Use it to Your Advantage)

Excuse 7: I can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. I’m single.

Barney Stinson from "How I Met Your Mother'Barney Stinson once declared February 13th to be “Desperation Day;” a holiday for sleazy womanizers to prey on the dateless masses during their misguided attempt to find someone with whom to spend the next dreaded day. As sad as this scenario may sound, I have to admit that I was once that girl, sitting by my sorority house window, in the hopes that the secret object of my affection would come strolling down the street with a handful of long-stemmed roses. But I was 19 years old and a total idiot.

Being single rules! Grab your friends, get dressed up for a night on the town and go show everyone that you don’t have to be a part of a couple to have an awesome Valentine’s Day! You go girl (or boy)!

Truthfully, you aren’t “showing” anyone anything because nobody is actually judging you in the first place, but it still sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

Valentine’s Day Stoplight Party at Baily’s Nightclub
28699 Old Town Front Street, Old Town Temecula

At 10pm on Valentine’s night, the nightclub at Baily’s Old Town will be hosting one of the most colorful parties in town! Plan your outfit accordingly because what you wear tells people your relationship status: Single’s in green (because you’re good to go, I guess?) “Ask Me” wears yellow (to add a bit of mystery?) and, if you’re taken, wear red (Stop right there, buddy.) There will be two DJs, two dance floors, three bars, food including tacos and burgers for purchase and VIP bottle service available. It’s only a $5 cover charge and you must be 21 and up. What a perfect way to “go green” this Valentine’s Day!

Who knows, maybe you’ll meet someone while mingling at the spa and not be dateless for Valentine’s Day, after all?
