Hot Summer Nights Returns to Friday Nights in Old Town

The streets of Old Town are heating up again and it’s not just due to the rising July temperatures.

The returning seasonal favorite, the City of Temecula’s Hot Summer Nights, always signals that summer is in full swing, with live entertainment taking over some of Old Town’s most popular locales on Friday nights through August 26th.

From archway to archway, to the side streets and beyond, you can find free live music in parking lots, patios, street corners and specialty stages all over Temecula’s favorite dining and nightlife district.

Bands and musical acts from numerous genres are scheduled to perform including tribute bands, beach music, reggae, country, rock and blues and the entertainment lineup and locations change throughout the weeks. Some of the selected locations for this year are Baily’s on Front Street, Old Town Pub and Grub and the Truax Building, among others.

Local country rock favorite, Kanan Road (pictured), look forward to returning to Hot Summer Nights; appearing at Baily’s on Front Street on August 19th.

“The energy and the large crowd at Hot Summer Nights fits perfectly with the Kanan Road vibe and performance,” Kanan Road’s Kanan Cox said. “Every event that the City of Temecula does, especially in Old Town, benefits the people and small businesses and Kanan Road are huge supporters of our home town. We are extremely thankful to call Temecula home.”

In addition to music lovers, Hot Summer Nights is designed to bring families down to experience Old Town together. One mainstay of the annual event is perennial favorite, balloon artist Dynamite Dave, whose ever-changing personas and costumes keep locals coming back week to week.

“It’s really kind of sad but, the night before the first summer nights, I don’t sleep very well because I get so excited about being there,” Dynamite Dave said. “It’s probably about my fourteenth year being there and it’s always so much fun with the families and the kids.”

Additional Hot Summer Nights family entertainment, appearing on select nights, include magicians, jugglers, face painting, bounce houses, a jousting ring, a bungee trampoline and more. Even Princess Elsa, Darth Vader and other popular characters will be roaming the streets and enjoying the fun.

Hot Summer Nights is free to public. The schedule of musicians, performers and activities for Hot Summer Nights are subject to change at any time. For a full schedule of all Hot Summer Nights entertainment, visit the City of Temecula Community Services website.
