Who Needs Reindeer? Alpaca Hacienda Holds Holiday Open Ranch Day
Move over Rudolph because the residents of the Alpaca Hacienda are celebrating the season!
“The Alpaca Hacienda’s free Holiday Open Ranch event embraces the holiday season,” Beth Osborne, co-owner of the Alpaca Hacienda said. “We decorate the ranch with seasonal décor and invite our community to join us as we kick off the holiday season alpaca style.”
Every September, Alpaca Hacienda, located in Temecula, celebrates National Alpaca Farms Day, where they participate with other alpaca ranches nationwide to invite their communities to their farms to teach people about alpacas and why they raise them. Their holiday event focuses less on education and more on yuletide entertainment for visitors.
“The day will be filled with ranch-style fun,” Osborne said. “The alpacas will be here to meet and greet our visitors, which is a great photo opportunity for holiday pictures. Santa will visit us from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and our talented carolers [from Murrieta High School] will entertain our guests from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. There will be arts and crafts to keep little hands busy and several demonstrations on how we use a spinning wheel to turn our alpacas’ fleece into yarn. While supplies last, our guests can enjoy complimentary hot cocoa and apple cider.”
The Alpaca Hacienda Holiday Open Ranch Day even provides a rare shopping opportunity to pick up unique gifts you aren’t going to find at Walmart or Target.
“Our boutique is always a hit with ranch visitors and will be open throughout the day for holiday shopping,” Osborne said. “Shoppers can find items made from alpaca fleece such as beanies, gloves, scarves, stuffed animals, yarn, socks and other unique gift items. Even more delightful are our one-of-a-kind, hand felted scarves and pillows made right here at the ranch.”
The Alpaca Hacienda Holiday Open Ranch day begins this Saturday, December 6th at 10:00 a.m. and will end promptly at 4:00 p.m. to accommodate the alpaca’s evening feeding. Osborne invites everyone in the Inland Empire to join them for a day filled with fuzzy and festive fun.
“Come on out and enjoy some quality time with family, friends and our gentle alpacas,” she said. “We can’t think of a better way to welcome the holiday season!”
