The American Heart Association invites families, community members, and companies to form a team and join us for the Southwest Riverside County Heart & Stroke Walk. The event raises awareness and much-needed funds to fight the Southwest Riverside County’s leading killers – heart disease and stroke. The 5K non-competitive walk will take place at 5:00pm on Saturday, May 9th, at Lake Skinner in Winchester, CA.
The Heart & Stroke Walk was designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living in an environment that is fun and rewarding for the entire family. It features live entertainment, a fun and interactive kids area, free heart healthy snacks and the opportunity to consult with personal trainers, nutritionists, neurologists and receive free health screenings.
The American Heart Association invests millions of dollars every year in research and has contributed to many important discoveries such as CPR, life-extending drugs, pacemakers, bypass surgery, the heart-lung machine, and surgical techniques to repair heart defects. The goal of the Southwest Riverside County Heart & Stroke Walk is to raise $150,000 to help the American Heart Association continue to fund lifesaving research and education programs.
