Local Business Spotlight: Uncle Bob’s Sports Bar & Grill

Like a lot of sports-loving Americans, longtime Temecula resident Bob Craig and his son Ryan had the very ambitious dream of opening the perfect bar and restaurant for their community to sit, relax and watch their favorite teams. But, as opposed to those who never follow through with their foodie fantasy, the father and son team worked for years to turn Uncle Bob’s Sports Bar & Grill from dream into reality.

“(Uncle Bob’s) was a concept that Ryan and I had, and we both saw a great need for that concept on the south end of Temecula,” Bob Craig said during a recent interview. “We began the long process and we went through many potential locations with many disappointments. With the advantage of hindsight, we are both so happy that we ended up in the location that we did.”

Once the perfect Temecula Parkway location was chosen, the Craigs and their team began to get to work building their dream from the ground up.

“With the help of friends, Ryan and I did all of the designing, framing, digging, plumbing, and everything in between; working seven days a week from six in the morning to late into the night,” Craig said. “It was a hard process that took over a year, but we are proud to say that we literally have our own blood, sweat, and tears poured into Uncle Bob’s and that is something we are extremely proud of.”

Serving what they refer to as elevated bar food, Uncle Bob’s Sports Bar & Grill puts their own special twist on bar classics like nachos with chicken or slow roasted pork and the Farm Team Burger, which is a grass fed all beef patty with prosciutto, pesto aioli, grilled onion, avocado, grilled tomato, mozzarella, and a fried egg. All ingredients on the Uncle Bob’s menu are fresh and locally grown, if possible.

By offering seasonal specials, raffles, giveaways and other events and entertainment, Craig sees Uncle Bob’s Sports Bar & Grill as a way for his family to give a little bit of fun and good food back to their friends and neighbors.

“Ryan and I both have a passion for what Uncle Bob’s represents and the community of people that we get to meet on a daily basis,” Craig said. “It is a magical feeling when you have a successful day and send hundreds of people home happy.”
