Fall Brings Fun Programs for Teens to the Temecula Public Library
It’s the beginning of a new school year and the Temecula Public Library has put together some exciting and innovative programs to make the transition back to education much easier for local teens.
Held on one Monday per month through December, the library’s fall teen programs use themes like pop culture and holidays to provide teens, grades 7 through 12, with creative, educational enrichment and teen building through fun activities with their peers.
The library describes this year’s fall teen programs as follows:
August 24th – Ductapalooza: School Edition (Limit 30 participants)
Teens can get ready for school by sprucing up those boring school supplies with duct tape! Pens become a bouquet of flowers. Notebooks get a pop of decorative color and you can even create a duct tape bag to carry all your supplies!
September 21st – The Curious Case of Button Art (Limit 30 participants)
Are you thinking that buttons are just for fastening? Think again! Watch as a plain canvas is transformed into a masterpiece by these ordinary objects.
October 19th – Ahhh! Real String Monsters (Limit 30 participants)
Ghosts, goblins, and ghouls are preparing for Halloween night. Make a creature of your very own that will be sure to cause a fright. Create a Thai String Doll monster so scary that you can’t help but scream in delight.
November 16th – The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 (Limit 40 participants)
The final installment of Hunger Games is coming out in theaters soon. Enter the arena one more time to see if you could survive the games. Test your skills by running in the Cornucopia Relay, shoot arrows like Katniss, show off your knowledge of the Hunger Games, and plenty more.
December 14th – Jolly Holiday Cookie and Hot Chocolate Party (Limit 30 participants)
Celebrate the holiday season with a cookie and hot chocolate party. Decorate cookies with peppermint, chocolate, marshmallows, and many more holiday treats. Then, wash it all down with a cup of warm hot chocolate.
All programs are in the evening from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Space is limited. Advance registration begins two weeks prior to the scheduled program at the library reception desk. Carpooling is encouraged. For more information, visit the Temecula Public Library website.
Have a great school year!
