KFROG Cares is a Country Concert for a Cause

Event Details:

  • What: KFROG Cares
  • When: Monday, April 13, 2015 @7pm
  • Where: Pechanga Resort & Casino
In a time where X-FM and Pandora radio are the go-to radio sources, the legendary KFROG 95.1 and 92.9 have legions of fans tuning in regularly for their daily dose of country music hits and, for the last twelve years, the folks at the popular pair of stations are using their influence to give back to the community that has kept them on the air all these years.

The 13th Annual KFROG Cares Concert, this Monday, April 13th at Pechanga Resort & Casino, brings together three of the country genre’s hottest up-and-coming artists; all to benefit the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

First on the playbill (though the performance order has not been announced) is country music singer-songwriter, Dustin Lynch. Lynch’s authentic twang has him often compared to the great George Strait, but with his own unique edge and intensity. Lynch’s self-titled debut album went to 1# on the Billboard Country Album Charts in 2012, with singles still in regular KFROG rotation.

Country group Gloriana was named the American Music Awards Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2009 and they haven’t looked back since. With two studio albums and a handful of well-received singles under their belt, Gloriana currently tours regularly with big name artists like Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn and the Zac Brown Band and they are about to release their third album.

The final act on KFROG’s line up is relative newcomer, Jana Kramer. Known more for her acting credits on shows like “One Tree Hill,” “90210,” and “Entourage,” Kramer’s first love has always been music. Having just released her second album, Kramer is becoming more comfortable with herself as a recording artist first, actor second.

“My second album is 100% better than my first and finally, this year, I don’t feel like I have to keep saying I’m here! Look at me,” Kramer said. “There have been hard times and I know that there will be more of them but, I have a song on the charts and I’m really excited about that. I hope that, in some ways, I’ve paid my dues.”

The new album’s first single, “I Got the Boy,” is quickly making its way up Billboard charts.

“The song is about my reminiscing about lost love with my high school sweetheart, who I was with for three and a half years,” Kramer said during a recent phone interview. “He is married now but [the song] is about how I got the boy and she got the man. We both got something that the other person will never have. Although we’ve both moved on, it’s good that a song can bring you back to all those memories.”

Very active in charity work, Kramer looks forward to joining forces with Lynch and Gloriana to raise money for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

“I’m all about giving back because I feel like I’ve been given such an amazing platform to be a voice for people who don’t have one and it’s really nice to go out and support causes like this,” she said. “I hope everyone can come out and support the cause, listen to some great music and pay it forward.”
