Idols Unite! Lee DeWyze and Friends Concert Hits Pala Casino

Event Details:

  • What: Lee DeWyze and Friends: American Idol Reunion Concert
  • When: Friday, June 5, 2015 @ 7:30pm
  • Where: Pala Casino
Next year may be the final season, but the spirit of the television juggernaut, American Idol, will live on forever in pop culture folklore. But, with umpteen seasons and hundreds of finalists under its belt, it’s hard to remember all of the incredibly talented aspiring vocalists that graced the Idol stage, let alone the head-scratchers who were with us far too long (Sanjaya anyone?). Lucky for us, season 9 winner, Lee DeWyze has gathered some familiar faces from the uber-popular talent show’s past and is bringing them together on one stage for the “Lee DeWyze and Friends: American Idol Reunion Concert.”

This Friday, June 5th at 7:30 pm at Pala Casino Spa & Resort’s Infinity Showroom, headliner DeWyze will take a break from his current tour promoting the recent Vanguard Records release “Frames,” to raise money for a good cause.

DeWyze will be joined on stage by Blake (beat box) Lewis, runner up for Idol’s season 6, Elliott “the crooner who needed a makeover” Yamin, who took third on season 5, and Didi Benami, who was apparently on season 9, but I stopped watching after Kris Allen started that whole white-boys-with-guitars era in season 8.

Proceeds for “Lee DeWyze and Friends: American Idol Reunion Concert” benefit Oak Grove Center for Education Treatment & the Arts; a non-profit, 24-hour residential, educational and therapeutic treatment center, located in Murrieta, that treats 76 at-risk children who live on campus and 90-100 day students who attend its non-public schools. Oak Grove also operates a second campus, Oak Grove at the Ranch, in Perris, that serves an additional 50 students. For more information visit Oak Grove Center.

Tickets for “Lee DeWyze and Friends: Americal Idol Reunion Show” are only $15 per person but, being a casino, you must be 21 years of age or older to attend. Discounted 4-packs of tickets are also available, as well as special meet-and-greet opportunities. Click here to purchase tickets.

Although Taylor Hicks is not involved (SOUL PATROL!!!!), you still have to admit that this is a show that any American Idol fan should be clamoring to attend; assuming you are of age, of course. American Idol’s days may be numbered, but the dream is still alive, people. Keep on dreaming, Dawg, and make it your own.
