City of Temecula Celebrates Fall with Annual Halloween Carnival

Event Details:

  • What: City of Temecula Halloween Carnival
  • When: October 24, 2014, 6 - 9pm
  • Where: Ronald Reagan Sports Park

It’s that haunted time of year, where ghosts, goblins, witches, bats and skeletons roam the neighborhood streets. But at the City of Temecula’s Halloween Carnival, they will all be lining up to be judged, along with dozens of Disney princesses, Ninja Turtles and maybe even the Hulk.

“We will have costume contests for ages 0-3, 4-6, 7-13 and 14 and up,” Dawn Adamiak, Recreation Supervisor for the City of Temecula said. “Prizes will be awarded in the categories of scariest, funniest, cutest and most original.”

Costume contests are only a small part of the haunted holiday fun at the City of Temecula’s annual Halloween Carnival, now in its fifteenth year.

The popular event takes place on Friday, October 24th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Ronald Reagan Sports Park and the entire community is invited to join in on the spooky festivities.

“This year we have 27 carnival games, temporary tattoos and even inflatables,” Adamiak said.

Unlike some of the amazing activities hosted by the city’s Community Services Department all year long, like their Build Your Own Boat Regatta and the Pumpkin Plunge earlier this month, there is no registration necessary for the Halloween Carnival. Wristbands are $5 each and include unlimited carnival games and activities.

Food vendors will be on hand for ghouls needing grub, selling quintessential fall carnival treats including pizza, hot dogs, kettle corn, chips and even the fair favorite funnel cakes.

To accompany the Halloween carnival theme, the City of Temecula is hosting a coloring contest for several age groups, from toddlers all the way through age 11. The coloring page can be found on the city’s event website at www.temeculaevents.org and entries must be received by October 17th to be considered for the contest.

Coloring contest winners will be announced at the carnival on October 24th but, if your young artist gets sleepy that evening and needs to go home to bed, they can rest easy because you do not have to be present to win.

The City of Temecula’s Halloween Carnival is just another example of how city staff prides itself on providing fun and entertaining events and activities for the whole family all year long, so put on your best costume and come down to the park for a night that promises to be full of frightful family fun!
