California Chamber Orchestra Kicks Off New Season with Mozart Rocks

Event Details:

  • What: Mozart Rocks - California Chamber Orchestra
  • When: Saturday, October 3, 2015 - 7:30pm
  • Where: Old Town Temecula Community Theater

The City of Temecula prides itself on providing residents and visitors with the highest caliber of entertainment and education in the fine and performing arts. With world-class orchestra members as well as special musical guests, the California Chamber Orchestra’s new season is a perfect example of the stellar artistic offerings available in our own back yard.

“We hear from people all the time who thought they had to get in their cars and drive to LA, or San Diego, or Costa Mesa to hear great classical music,” says Dana Zimbric, Artistic Director and Conductor of the California Chamber Orchestra said in press materials. “And then they come to one of our concerts, and they realize we’re offering that caliber of performances right here in Temecula and Murrieta.”

The orchestra’s 11th season, called “Simply Great Music,” begins on Saturday, October 3rd with an all-Mozart program, featuring solo violinist Annelle Gregory.

“We’re calling it, ‘Mozart Rocks’,” Zimbric said. “If you think about it, old Wolfgang Amadeus was the bad boy rock star of his day. And his music still resonates with modern audiences.”

California Chamber Orchestra musicians can boast impressive resumes, performing in some of the most prestigious venues, including Copley, Segerstrom, and even Disney Symphony Halls.

“On the nights they’re not performing on those big stages, these musicians love to come here to perform in our more intimate venues. They enjoy interacting with our incredible audiences.” Zimbric said.

The remainder of the season includes a salute to Bach in November, a special Valentine’s performance, and a spring concert in April featuring the works of Beethoven and Dvorak. In addition, the Chamber will continue to host bi-weekly concerts in Old Town Temecula for the popular Classics at the Merc series.

Single tickets are $32 for adults, $27 for seniors, and $10 for students. Children 10 and under can get in free with an accompanying adult or senior. Package plans for the full season are available. For program details or to order tickets, visit CalChamberOrchestra.org.

After hearing the lineup for the California Chamber Orchestra’s 2015-2016, we can all look forward to some simply great music.
