Showdown at the Storm Car Show Drives into Lake Elsinore

Time to get your motor running because the Showdown at the Storm Car Show and Swap Meet is cruising into Lake Elsinore this weekend.

Taking place this Saturday, August 23rd from 4 to 10 pm, this is the second car show of the year for this particular event organizer.

“This show is needed and wanted in the Inland Empire and the public is tired of driving to Pomona or San Diego,” George Andrews, show organizer, said. “Showdown at the Storm Car Show is the first of its kind at Storm Stadium. There are a lot of car shows, but not car show and swap meets.”

Thousands of classic cars and hot rods from all across the county will be driving into Storm Stadium; some for purchase and others on display by their owners for the enjoyment of car aficionados like themselves.

“The care and beauty of these cars are breathtaking and you will see unique cars that are worth a fortune,” Andrews said. “It is amazing to see the hard work people put into their beloved show cars.”

In addition to display vehicles, Showdown at the Storm will include dozens of vendors specializing in the types of products necessary for the serious auto expert as well as novice.

“There are not enough places to sell car parts for these special cars and this show is the place to do so,” Andrews said. “There are so many vendors that are excited to have something as close by as [Lake] Elsinore.”

Whether you are already engrossed in the lifestyle of car restoration and display or just looking for a fun afternoon outing, Andrews is confident that Showdown at the Storm will entertain everyone who chooses to come and check out the show.

“Car shows are great for the entire family to enjoy and you really don’t need to be a car enthusiast to appreciate the special ones that come,” he said. “Young children especially love these cars and more women are involved and have cars of their own.”

The organizers of Showdown at the Storm Car Show and Swap Meet not only look forward to the success of this month’s show and the satisfaction of its attendants, they are already hitting the gas pedal on planning future shows with even more horsepower.

“This is good clean entertainment and the people that show their cars are a special group of people. There is so much pride, hard work and money invested in these show cars,” Andrews said. “We feel that this show can only get bigger and better as time goes on.”
